Scheffler is facing several charges — Second degree assault of a police officer; third degree criminal mischief, Reckless driving, Disregarding traffic signals from an officer —after he was detained while trying to enter Valhalla Golf Club.
The road that Scheffler was using had been closed due to a fatal accident earlier in the morning and, after being stopped by a police officer, Scheffler allegedly attempted to continue driving around, dragging the officer several feet.
Scheffler was arrested and charged after the incident, but still was able to make his morning tee time.
His mugshot after being booked quickly went viral – including in the group chat which also includes fellow golf stars Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Jordan Spieth.

“He took it like a champ and we have a group chat, with our physio, our crew. It’s me, Gary, JT, Jordan, Scottie, Pat (Cantlay) — we all share the same physio,” Schauffele told Barstool.
“The boys were heckling Scottie a little bit … just enough.”
Schauffele also confirmed that the group’s display photo was changed to Scheffler’s mugshot.
“Obviously that happened,” he said with a laugh.

Schauffele, who ranks No. 2 in the world behind Scheffler, said he originally thought his buddy’s arrest was a prank.
“He handled it really well. In Scottie Scheffler fashion — he’s a good dude,” Schauffele said.
“As soon as I saw it, I thought it was a prank and then I saw it on the news and was like: ‘Holy smokes, this actually happened!’
“It feels like he’s going to come out OK from all this, it feels like things are going to get dropped.”
Earlier this week, Scheffler’s arraignment in Louisville was postponed until June 3.
